29 CFR 1910.22(d)(2): Hazardous conditions on walking-working surfaces were not corrected or repaired before an employee used the walking-working surface again. On or about July 23, 2021, at the 1st floor, at the material handling equipment traffic area. Employees were exposed to trip and fall hazards when walking, working and moving equipment along broken and uneven floor surfaces along the hallway areas as follows: a. In front of platform doors, two broken and uneven floor surfaces, one measures 23 inches by 38 inches; another one measures 57 inches by 60 inches. b. In front of elevators #1 and #2 , one broken and uneven floor surface with two sections, one measures 169 inches by 60 inches; another section measures 112 inches by 86 inches. NOTE 1: U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number #1451842, Citation # 1, item #1, and was affirmed as a final order on 04/27/2020, with respect to a workplace located at 585 FD Roosevelt Ave., San Juan, PR, NOTE 2: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer prior to citation issuance.
