1926.20(b)(2)  Such programs shall provide for frequent and regular inspections of the job sites, materials, and equipment to be made by competent persons designated by the employers. 29 CFR  1926.652(a)(1):Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c).  a) Worksite: 15 Piccadilly Rd. Great Neck, New York 11023:   On or about July 12. 2021, employees engaging in sewer pipe installation work were in an excavation approximately 18-feet below the ground and did not have an adequate protective system in place along the east side of the excavation.   Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.
