29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:(a) (LOCATION) (IDENTIFY SPECIFIC OPERATION(S) AND/OR CONDITIONS) a. 115 Harrison St., Frenchtown, NJ - Roof The employer did not ensure portable ladders were extended at least 3 feet above the landing surface. Employees engaged in the removal of roofing materials of a residential house, used Werner extension ladders that did not extend 3 feet above the landing surface. Ladders from the ground to the first level roof were not extended properly and the ladder from the first level to the steep pitch roof were not extended properly. Violation observed on or about August 3, 2021
