(b) Shop Area: On September 1, 2021 and times prior to, the employer did not provide machine guarding for the rotating chuck of the Jet drill press.

29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9):The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: (a) Shop Area, Near Bay Door: On September 8, 2021 and times prior, employees operated a pedestal abrasive wheel grinder that was not equipped with a tongue guard that had a maximum opening of 3/4 of an inch between the grinding wheel and the peripheral safety guard. (b) Shop Area, Near Work Bench: On September 8, 2021 and times prior, employees operated a Queen City pedestal abrasive wheel grinder that was not equipped with a tongue guard that had a maximum opening of 5/8 of an inch between the grinding wheel and the peripheral safety guard.
