29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: On or about 1 September 2021, at the Water Treatment Plan, American Yatch Harbor, Saint Thomas, VI. Emergency shower was not available in the immediate area when employees used and/or handled corrosive products such as high content chlorine sanitizer chemical during water treatment operation. NOTE: Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: On or about 1 September 2021, inside of a maintenance workshop area, and, also next to the LPG tanks holding area, American Yatch Harbor, St. Thomas, VI. Employees were exposed to fire hazards while performing marina maintenance operations on areas where corrosive and flammable liquids and combustible materials, and, LPG tanks where located with no fire extinguishers available or provided in case of a sudden fire. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.

Electrical circuit breaker panels and knife switches were not provided with sufficient work space, caused by the storage of miscellaneous materials on front of the panels. Consequently, employees were exposed to struck by hazards when needed to operate such electrical equipment. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
