29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator, and other employees in the machine area, from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips, and sparks. (a) In the production area, on or about September 3, 2021, and at times prior to, the employer did not ensure that the method of machine guarding (Link Lite Black Max) for the Cincinnati press brake (S/N 56685) was operable, in order to protect the operator from the point of operation, thus exposing them to amputation hazards. (b) In the production area, on or about September 3, 2021, and at times prior to, the employer did not provide one or more methods of machine guarding for the Cincinnati press brake (S/N 53542), in order to protect the operator from the point of operation, thus exposing them to amputation hazards.
