29 CFR 1904.7(b)(3): When an injury or illness involves one or more days away from work, you must record the injury or illness on the OSHA 300 Log with a check mark in the space for cases involving days away and an entry of the number of calendar days away from work in the number of days column. If the employee is out for an extended period of time, you must enter an estimate of the days that the employee will be away, and update the day count when the actual number of days is known. US Forest Service- Lassen National Forest: During Dixie Fire, employees were exposed to health hazards because two incidents with days away from work were not recorded on OSHA 300 logs in August/September of 2021, when two employees were tested-positive for COVID-19.

29 CFR 1904.40(a): When an authorized government representative asks for the records you keep under Part 1904, you must provide copies of the records within four (4) business hours. US Forest Service- Lassen National Forest-Almanor Ranger District: Employees were exposed to health and safety hazards because the injury and illness tracking system was not maintained. On September 14, 2021, OSHA logs and summaries were requested for last four years. These logs were not provided until September 20, 2021.
