Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. On or about September 20, 2021 employees were observed working on the roof of a single family home without the use of PFAS or protected by any other form of fall protection system at a job site located at 1157 Fountain View NE, North Canton, OH 44721. The employer did not ensure employees working on the roof were protected from a fall of approximately 10.8 feet by utilizing a fall protection system.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1):The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. On or about September 20, 2021 during the exterior painting of a single family home located at 1157 Fountain View NE, Canton, OH 44721. The employer did not ensure employees painting the second story trim were protected from a fall approximately 10.8 feet by utilizing a fall protection system. Employees were not provided any form of fall protection training or fall hazard recognition.
