29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about September 27, 2021, and after, the safety sensors on the door of CNC machines VF-5, VF-7, And VF-9 had been bypassed and were not operational. The CNC machines did not have any guarding to protect the operator and other employees from hazards such as, but not limited to, moving parts. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

On or about September 27, 2021 the employer did not guard the spindle end, nut and flange of the surface grinding machine(s). Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903(c).
