29 CFR  1910.37(b)(4): Signs were not posted along the exit access indicating the direction of travel to the nearest exit and exit discharge when the direction of travel to the exit or exit discharge was not immediately apparent:  (a) York Wallcoverings, Inc., 2075 Loucks Road, York, Pennsylvania - The physical layout of the workplace, including the length and height of machinery and the positioning of storage racks, blocked the line of sight to exit doors, and the employer did not have signs posted indicating the direction of travel to the nearest exit or exit discharge, exposing employees to the hazard of delayed evacuation or no evacuation in the event of an emergency, on or about October 14, 2021.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  (a) Gravure Presses - The gravure presses ran with the guards for the rotating cylinder ends either open or removed, exposing employees to the hazard of getting caught in or by the rotating cylinder ends, on or about October 14, 2021.  (b) Wide Emboss Press - The guard was broken off on the vacuum roller end, exposing employees to the hazard getting caught in or by the rotating roller end, on or about October 14, 2021.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR  1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling:  (a) Commercial Finishing - Two relocatable power taps (a.k.a., power strips or surge protectors), connected to each other by an extension cord, powered loads, including fans.  The UL listing for the power tap specifies using these device for supplying power to low amperage electronic equipment rather than equipment such as fans and specifies not using the devices connected to extension cords, exposing employees to an electrical hazard, on or about October 14, 2021.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR  1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure:  (a) Commercial Finishing - Two relocatable power taps (a.k.a., power strips or surge protectors), connected to each other by an extension cord were used in place of fixed wiring to power loads, including fans and to charge batteries of Vestil high-rise skid truck, exposing employees to an electrical hazard, on or about October 14, 2021.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
