29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i):Procedures shall be developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees are engaged in the activities covered by this section. On or about October 20, 2021, the employer did not ensure production cooks performing service activities on the filler machine line holding kettle pump, utilized energy control procedures to control the hazardous electrical energy of the pump while removing and cleaning the pump filter screen and/or cleaning the pump's inlet port. Innovative Confection Solutions, LLC., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.147(c)(4)(i) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1500587, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on February 10, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 28025 Ranney Parkway, Westlake, Ohio.

29 CFR 1910.147(d):Application of control. The established procedures for the application of energy control (the lockout or tagout procedures) shall cover the following elements and actions and shall be done in the following sequence: On or about October 20, 2021, the employer did not ensure production cooks performing service activities by removing a filter screen and cleaning an electrically powered pump on the filler machine line applied and followed the established energy control procedures by; turning off or shutting down the pump [per 1910.147(d)(2)], isolating the pump from the electrical energy source [(d)(3)], affixing lockout device(s) to the energy isolation devices [(d)(4)(i)], and verifying de-energization and isolation had been accomplished [(d)(6)], prior to servicing and cleaning the pump. Innovative Confection Solutions, LLC., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.147(c)(4)(i) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1500587, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on February 10, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 28025 Ranney Parkway, Westlake, Ohio.
