Employees were exposed to skin and eye contact hazards which can result in skin and eye irritation including redness, swelling, itching and burning.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1):Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: On or about November 17, 2021, the employer had not provided employees with information and training on hazardous chemicals such as, but not limited to SS 210 AL a semi-synthetic metalworking fluid used as a coolant in the CNCs and lathes in the production area of the facility. Training should cover the written hazard communication program, health hazards associated with the chemicals, methods to detect the release of hazardous chemicals, measures employees can take to protect themselves from exposure to the chemicals, emergency procedures to follow during workplace incidents involving the hazardous chemicals and safety data sheets outlining the information included on a safety data sheet and where employees can access the safety data sheets in the workplace.
