29 CFR  1910.107(c)(9)(i):   All metal parts of spray booths, exhaust ducts, and piping systems conveying flammable liquids or liquids with a flashpoint greater than 199.4 �F (93 �C) or aerated solids were not properly electrically grounded in an effective and permanent manner:  Spray Finishing Room, Manual Booths:  On, or about, November 30, 2021, the HVLP air spray guns that were used to apply various flammable primers, stains and finishes to fabricated items were not grounded back to the spray booth and/or building structure.

29 CFR  1910.107(d)(12):  Freshly sprayed articles were not dried in spaces provided with adequate ventilation to prevent the formation of explosive vapors:  Spray Finishing Room:  On, or about, November 30, 2021, freshly spray items were allowed to air dry on rolling racks.  Live, column mounted electrical receptacles were located within 20 feet of the drying racks.    Abatement Note:  Unventilated spaces used to dry parts must conform to the same requirements as an unenclosed spray area.  Article 516 of the National Electric Code provides guidance for enclosed spraying areas.

29 CFR  1910.107(e)(2):  The quantity of flammable or combustible liquids kept in the vicinity of spraying operation(s) exceeded the minimum required for operation:  Spray Finishing Room, Manual Booths:  On, or about, November 30, 2021, cans and pails of flammable coatings and stains were stored on a metal rack located in between the booths.  The material was not needed for the daily spraying operations and should have been stored in a flammable storage cabinet or otherwise separated from the spraying operations.
