29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11):"Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about December 02, 2021, during the removal of debris/cleaning taking place on the gutters of a commercial building located at 3493 Darrow Rd, Stow, Ohio 44224 the employer did not ensure employees working from a steep pitch roof were protected from a fall height of approximately 13.5 feet, by utilizing a guardrail system, safety net system and/or personal fall arrest system. The employees were exposed to a fall hazard while removing debris/cleaning the gutters from the roof. The removal of debris/cleaning is done by the employee, being directly on the edge of the roof, using either their hands or a blower.
