29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) On or about January 5, 2022, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to flying chips and struck by hazards in that the brake lathes, located in the automotive shop area, were not guarded at the point of operation: 1) Aamco brake lathe NO #6950, serial number illegible 2) Aamco brake lathe, serial number illegible Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
