29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9):The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: Employees were exposed to caught-in and struck-by hazards. Employees engaged in quality control activities using the ABC bench grinder on heat line 5 were exposed to caught-in and struck-by hazards in that the tongue guard opening was not maintained at a maximum of one-quarter inch. The tongue guard was found to be approximately one inch away from the grinding wheel.
