29 CFR 1910.37(b)(4): Signs were not posted along the exit access indicating the direction of travel to the nearest exit and exit discharge when the direction of travel to the exit or exit discharge was not immediately apparent: (a) Main Office (Zone 1,4,5) - On or about January 18, 2022, and at times prior, the exit access was blocked by rolling carts and mail hampers with packages that are over six feet, blocking the sight to the west perimeter wall exit and no signs were posted along it is indicating the direction of travel. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that all places of employment, passageways, storerooms, service rooms, and walking-working surfaces are kept in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. U.S. Postal Service located at 900 Brentwood Road, NE Washington, DC 20018: (a) Throughout Mail Room - On or about January 18, 2022, rolling carts, mail tubs, mail equipment, mail hampers and mail trays were placed in the passageway creating tripping hazards. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1525924, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 29, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 5310 1st Avenue North, Birmingham, AL, 35212. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.

(b) On or about May 17, 2021, the employer provided copies of the OSHA 300A for CY2021 that was dated January 25, 2022, February 1, 2022, and February 15, 2022, in which the employer failed to verified that the annual average number of employees was accurate since the numbers varied for each dated form that was provided. (c) On or about May 17, 2021, the employer provided copies of the OSHA 300A for CY2021 that was dated January 25, 2022, February 1, 2022, and February 15, 2022, in which the employer failed to verified that the total hours worked by all employees were accurate.
