29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): The employer shall provide portable fire extinguishers and shall mount, locate and identify them so that they are readily accessible to employees without subjecting the employees to possible injury. a. On or about February 8, 2022, at the store retail showroom, at least three 10-pounds, ABC dry chemical, portable fire extinguishers were not readily accessible. Physical access to the extinguishers was obstructed by items laying on the floor. b. On or about February 8, 2022, at the construction materials warehouse/yard, at least two 10-pounds, ABC dry chemical, portable fire extinguishers were not readily accessible. Physical access to the extinguishers was obstructed by items laying on the floor. NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.
