(a) Scrap yard; Walking-working surfaces before accessing or after egressing the CAT hydraulic material handler with the grapple attachment (model M325D LMH, S/N EKGG0248) presented trip/cut hazards from sharp/protruding sheet metal and other scrap.

29 CFR 1910.303(c)(3)(i): Conductors were not spliced or joined with splicing devices identified for the use or by brazing, welding, or soldering with a fusible metal or alloy. All splices and joints and the free ends of conductors were not covered with an insulation equivalent to that of the conductors or with an insulating device identified for the purpose: (a) Yard area; The splices in the wiring for the LED lights on the CAT front end loader (Model 928F, S/N 2xlu2144) were created by twisting the non-insulated ends of the copper conductors together and the free ends of conductors were not covered with insulation.
