29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries. On or about February 18, 2022, and at times prior thereto, fire extinguishers within the facility were blocked by incoming materials, preventing the fire extinguishers from being readily accessible.

29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes were not free and unobstructed. Materials or equipment were placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. On or about February 18, 2022, the exit route for the back stockroom was blocked and obstructed while employees were working within to unload and stock inbound merchandise, exposing the employees to various fire hazards. T.J. Maxx was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1502187, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 10 June 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 4917 Promenade Pkwy S500 Bessemer, AL 35022.
