29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) An employee engaged in removing dog food bags that had become caught below the conveyor belt on line 5 located at 727 N. Iowa, Lawrence, Kansas was exposed to caught-in between hazards due to no guard being provided for the rotating roller below the conveyor belt. (b) Employees engaged in maintaining the uniform flow of pet food bags on the line 5 conveyor belt located at 727 N. Iowa, Lawrence, Kansas were exposed to caught-in between hazards due to no guard being provided for conveyor belt's ingoing nip points.
