29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes were not continuously maintained free of obstructions or impediments to full instant use in the case of fire or other emergency: International Vitamin Corporation located at 2101 Horning Rd Philadelphia, PA: (a) Receiving area: On or about March 3, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the exit route was maintained free of obstructions. A dock plate was placed in front of the emergency exit door inside the building, exposing employees to fire hazards in case of an emergency. (b) Suite A: On or about March 3, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the exit route was maintained free of obstructions. Wooden pallets filled with products in cardboard boxes were placed and stored within the emergency exit route through aisle 23-24, exposing employees to fire hazards in case of an emergency. (c) Shipping dock: On or about March 3, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the exit route was maintained free of obstructions. Wooden pallets filled with products in cardboard boxes were placed and stored behind the door leading to Suite B, obstructing employee egress in case of an emergency. (d) Suite B: On or about March 3, 2022, the employer did not ensure that the exit route was maintained free of obstructions. Wooden pallets filled with products in cardboard boxes were placed and stored in front of an emergency exit door inside the building, exposing employees to fire hazards in case of an emergency.
