29 CFR  1910.261(k)(18):The hazard of the nip points on all calendar rolls was not eliminated or minimized by means of an effective barrier device, or by feeding the paper into the rolls by means of a rope carrier, air jets, or hand feeding devices.   a) 30 Champion Street, Carthage, NY 13619: On or about March 7, 2022, while working as the 4th hand on the dryer side platform of the Calendar Stack during sheet breaks, employees were exposed to a nip point that ultimately resulted in an employee amputation.  The injured employee attempted to thread the paper tail into the bottom nip of the stacks following established procedures and his left hand was caught up in the paper piling up beside him, drawing his left hand's fingers into the nip point.
