One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.   a.  On or about March 22, 2022, the employer did not ensure all portions of the Powder Room Bandsaw blade, except the working portion of the blade between the bottom of the guide rolls and the table, was guarded to protect operators from contacting the blade (point of operation).   b.   On or about March 22, 2022, the employer did not ensure the bandsaw wheels of the Powder Room Vertical Bandsaw were fully enclosed to protect operators from the rotation of the wheels, with a properly affixed guard that could not be easily removed (opened).
