29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1):The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). (a). BCI- Camp Parks: Employees such as Ration Workers and Cooks who work in cold storage areas were exposed to health hazards because no personal protective equipment (PPE) hazard assessment was conducted which will necessitate the use of PPE suitable for the cold environments such as insulated jackets, boots, head protection, and gloves. (b). BCI- Camp Parks: Employees such as Food Sanitation Workers who work with corrosive chemical products such as Clorox bleach, Oasis 100, Oasis 137, Oasis 146, Oasis 299, and Peroxide were exposed to health hazards due to the lack of a PPE hazard assessment.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1):Employers did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. BCI- Camp Parks: Employees such as Food Sanitation Workers were exposed to health hazards because they were not provided a hazard communication training in regards to dilution rates, chemical hazards, and safety data sheets in a language that they can understand. These employees speak languages such as Spanish, Tagalog, and Portuguese and they work with chemical products such as Clorox bleach, Oasis 100, Oasis 137, Oasis 146, Oasis 299, and Peroxide.
