29 CFR 1910.136(a): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used protective footwear when working in areas where there was a danger of foot injuries due to falling or rolling objects, or objects piercing the sole, and where such employee's feet were exposed to electrical hazards: On or about 21 April 2022, at the Island Marine workshop, Marina Puerto del Rey, Fajardo, PR. At the inside of the workshop, employees engaged on boat renovation operations were observed performing renovation tasks such as painting, sanding and wood work on boats without proper safety shoes as to protect them from injury. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.

Emergency shower was not available in the immediate area when employees engaged on boat renovation operations used and/or handled corrosive products such as paints, thinners, resins, fiberglass, etc. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
