OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees.  On or about April 20th, 2022: Employees engaged cattle herding activities at the Darr Feedlot Inc. located at 42826 Road 759 Cozad, NE 69130, were exposed to struck-by hazards related to the employees within the swing radius of the gates they were opening and closing for agitated cattle.  FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHODS TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:  1. Implement a procedure and provide training on having two employees for the gate closure where one could push the gate to the second who would be positioned outside but adjacent to the pen.   2.  Modify the current gate with a spring that would  automatically close the gate.   3. Install a "Slam Gate," that locks automatically upon being pushed closed and is used frequently throughout the Darr Feedlot facility.
