29 CFR 1926.304(f): Section 3.1.3(c) American National Standards Institute 01.1.1961, Safety Code for Woodworking Machinery as adopted by 29 CFR 1926.304(f): In applications (a circular hand-rip saw) where injury to the operator might result if motors were to restart after power failures, provision were not taken to prevent machines from automatically restarting upon restoration of power: (a) Ground Floor - On or about April 28, 2022, carpenters were ripping wood trim with a DeWalt portable table saw (serial no. 201022-CT060371) which was not provided with a anti-restart switch or similar device which would prevent the saw from automatically stating once a temporary power interruption was rectified. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
