29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:  a)  At 2180 Graymoor Lane, Lot 416 Graymoor (Front of House), Waveland, Alabama:  On May 3, 2022, the employer failed to ensure an extension ladder used by the crew to gain access to the roof had the rails of the ladder extended at least three feet above the roof landing to provide safe access exposing his employees to a fall hazard of 13 feet 5 inches to the ground below.  b)  At 2180 Graymoor Lane, Lot 416 Graymoor (Rear of House), Waveland, Alabama:  On May 3, 2022, the employer failed to ensure an extension ladder used by the crew to gain access to the roof had the rails of the ladder extended at least three feet above the roof landing to provide safe access exposing his employees to a fall hazard of 15 feet 6 inches to the ground below.
