OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to  severe laceration and amputation hazards from mower blades from the improper use of powered walk-behind lawn mowers while working on steep slopes:  (a) Golf Course:  On or about 5-6-2022, an employee cutting grass on steep slopes at tee number 3 was using a hover mower that was not set up properly for working on steep slopes in that there was no use of a handle extension kit to extend the mower handle as recommended by the manufacturer, and the mower handle was attached to the mower using the front handle mounting holes, not the rear holes that are recommended by the manufacturer when cutting on steep slopes.
