29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes must be free and unobstructed. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. The exit access must not go through a room that can be locked, such as a bathroom, to reach an exit or exit discharge, nor may it lead into a dead-end corridor: (a) On or about May 13, 2022, the employer did not ensure exits routes were unobstructed. Warehouse materials were stored immediately adjacent to, and in front of Door B, Unit 18, preventing personnel from exiting the facility in an emergency. This condition exposed employees to fire hazards.

29 CFR 1910.36(d)(1): Employee(s) were not able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge: (a) On or about May 13, 2022, the employer did not ensure that employees could open an exit route door at all times. Exit route Door B, Unit 18, was equipped with a deadbolt lock, which was engaged, preventing personnel from exiting the facility in an emergency. This condition exposed employees to fire hazards.

29 CFR 1910.110(f)(2)(ii): Containers when stored inside shall not be located near exits, stairways, or in areas normally used or intended for the safe exit of people: (a) On or about May 31, 2022, the employer did not ensure that containers were not located away from exits, or area normally used or intended for the safe exit of people. Propane cylinders were stored inside the facility, immediately adjacent to a warehouse garage door which is used by employees and powered industrial trucks to move between separate portions of the facility. This condition exposed employees to fire and struck-by hazards.
