29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): All places of employment, passageways, storerooms, and service rooms are not kept clean and orderly and in a sanitary condition.   a) The employer fails to ensure effective measures to prevent slip, trip and struck-by hazards, as demonstrated on or about May 19, 2022, in the main storage room/receiving room and aisles in the main storeroom, when the receiving/storage room was not kept clean, sanitary, and orderly, preventing employees from moving product in and out of the receiving/storage room onto the sales floor and from delivery trucks. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that the receiving/storage room is clean and organized. The emergency exit door was obstructed by store merchandise, roll-tainers, and U-boats, impeding direct means of egress for employees in the event of an emergency. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that all emergency exit routes are kept unobstructed and free from product to ensure a safe walkway for employees to exit the emergency exit door in case of an emergency.
