29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for the eyes, face, head, and extremities was not used wherever chemical hazards are encountered that are capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption or physical contact. a) On or about 05/16/2022, at Kettle 12 platform; a Kettle Operator was exposed to chemical burns to the upper body, including face, eyes, and neck while adding chemicals such as, but not limited to: Armeen TM-97 Tallow Amine to a production vessel. The employer did not ensure the appropriate personal protective equipment was provided and used such as: tightly fitting chemical resistant safety goggles, face-shield, protective Tyvek suit and nitrite rubber/ butyl rubber gloves to protect the employee from injury through physical contact when a corrosive chemical was used. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
