29 CFR 1926.652(g)(2):Excavations of earth material to a level no greater than 2 feet (.61m) below the bottom of a shield was permitted: On or about May 25, 2022 the employer JG Ewing DBA E&K Contractors at jobsite located at 3726 W. River Rd. Toledo OH 43614, failed to ensure employees were adequately protected from cave-ins when working in a 13 feet deep trench, while jetting clogged and repairing broken sewer lines. The employees were working at the bottom of a 13 feet deep trench inside of an 5 foot high X 6 foot wide stackable trench shield box with 5 feet and 6 tenths of unshielded soil from the bottom of the box to the trench base.
