29 CFR 1926.416(a)(3): Employer did not advise employees of the location of energized electrical power circuits, the hazards involved, and the protective measures to be taken: (a) On or about May 20, 2022, the employer did not advised employees of the location of energized electrical power lines, the hazards involved, and the protective measures to be taken to ensure their safety. Employees of Namaste Solar Electric, Inc. were exposed to contact with live electrical power lines while installing solar panels on a roof in proximity to utility power lines. A worker sustained serious injuries, including burns and a lower extremity amputation, when a metal rail he was bringing up to the roof, made contact with a 14,000 Volt power line located directly above the roof where the worker was standing. The workers were not advised of the location of the utility power lines, were not briefed on the hazards involved, and protective measures to ensure their safety were not taken.

Employees of Namaste Solar Electric, Inc. were exposed to falls greater than 8 feet while installing solar panels on a roof without the benefit of fall protection systems.
