29 CFR 1910.213(b)(1): Woodworking machine was not provided with mechanical or electrical power controls so located that the operator could cut off the power from the machine without leaving his position at the point of operation: On or about May 19, 2022, the employer did not ensure that employees who were authorized to operate the rear Grizzly, model G5959Z 12" left-tilting table saw had ease of access to cut off power from the machine without leaving the point of operation. The start stop switch was locate so that the employees would have to try and reach it with their foot to shut the machine off from the point of operation. No abatement is required for this citation item.

29 CFR 1910.213(c)(2):Handfed circular ripsaw(s) were not furnished with a spreader to prevent material from squeezing the saw or being thrown back on the operator: On or about May 19, 2022, the employer did not ensure the Grizzly, model G5959Z 12" left-tilting table saw was equipped with a spreader. Employee were exposed to serious injury if the material being cut pinched against the rotating saw blade and was thrown back at the operator. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

Employees were serious injury if the saw were to pick up the cut material or throw it back toward the operator. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
