Such programs would support the employer and employees in identifying and avoiding potential hazards such as falls and struck by hazards during job site operations, decreasing the probability of employee injury or illness.

29 CFR 1926.1060(a):The employer did not provide a training program for each employee using ladders and stairways, as necessary, which would enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways and train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards: On or about June 1, 2022 Vigil Construction LLC. at jobsite located at 4855 Westwind Ave. Port Clinton OH 43452, did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards while using a portable ladder to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling from the ladder and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. Employees were using one step ladder, and one 12 foot extension ladder on site, exposing them to falls of approximately 6 or 10 feet or greater due to the lack of training on use of the ladders.
