OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to struck-by /drowning hazards during tunneling operations:  The retrieval tunnel located at 100 Talcott Road, West Hartford, CT.  On or about May 18, 2022, two employees at the South Hartford Conveyance and Storage Tunnel were exposed to struck-by/drowning hazards.  The employees attempted to remove a protective cap to a  18" Drop Shaft Retrieval Shaft (DSRS) releasing approximately 8,000 gallons of trapped water and construction debris.
