29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Unicoat Industrial Roofing Corporation located at 6124 Busch Blvd Columbus, OH 43229: On and preceding June 14, 2022, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from falls while prepping a roof for sealing using pressure washers. Employees were working on a sloped metal roof of a commercial building at heights up to 25 feet and were not connected to the fall protection ropes nor was any other form of fall protection being utilized thereby exposing them to falls from height.
