29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Machine shop - On or about June 15, 2022, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that employer failed to ensure that Wilton Horizontal/Vertical Band Saw (Serial # 060812876 & Model # 3410) was provided with a method of machine guarding when employees were operating the machine for cutting the metal parts. b) Machine shop - On or about June 15, 2022, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that employer failed to ensure that Summit Milling Machine (Serial # 5895 & Model # VS-350-Mill) was provided with a method of machine guarding when employees were operating the machine to drill the metal parts.
