29 CFR 1910.23(c)(7)(i):29 CFR 1910.23(c)(7)(i): The employer did not ensure that ladders placed in locations such as passageways, doorways, or driveways where they can be displaced by other activities or traffic are secured to prevent accidental displacement.  a) Carl's Furniture, 23 New Hartford Shopping Center, New Hartford, NY  13413, on or about 6/23/22:  Workers were exposed to being struck by three step-ladders stored without being restrained.  The ladders were 8-foot, 10-foot, and 12-foot step ladders leaning against the wall adjacent to the overhead door in the loading dock area of the business.

29 CFR 1910.141(a)(3)(i): Places of employment were not kept clean to the extent that the nature of the work allowed:   a) Carl's Furniture, 23 New Hartford Shopping Center, New Hartford, NY  13413, on or about 6/23/22:  Workers were exposed to visible mold throughout the ceiling of the warehouse.  Much of the ceiling insulation material containing visible mold was disturbed and falling down onto work surfaces and stored furniture.  Abatement documentation must be submitted for this item.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1): Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:   a) Carl's Furniture, 23 New Hartford Shopping Center, New Hartford, NY  13413, on or about 6/23/22:  Workers were exposed to electrical burns by exposed wiring in an uncovered electrical box on the mezzanine level of the warehouse.  b) Carl's Furniture, 23 New Hartford Shopping Center, New Hartford, NY  13413, on or about 6/23/22:  Workers were exposed to electrical burns from exposed wiring in an uncovered electrical box on the face of the mezzanine level of the warehouse along the access stairway.    c) Carl's Furniture, 23 New Hartford Shopping Center, New Hartford, NY  13413, on or about 6/23/22:  Workers were exposed to electrical burns by exposed wiring in an electrical box with a damaged cover on the ground level of the warehouse.  d) Carl's Furniture, 23 New Hartford Shopping Center, New Hartford, NY  13413, on or about 6/23/22:  Workers were exposed to electrical burns by exposed wiring in an uncovered electrical box on the ground level of the warehouse, next to an overhead doorway.    Abatement documentation must be submitted for these items.
