Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards when being lifted on platform attached to forks of lift without fall protection. a) Worksite - On or about July 12, 2022, employees performing work activities while standing on a pallet elevated to heights in excess of 15 feet by the forks of a powered industrial truck are not provided with adequate fall protection. Abatement Method: Among others, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to follow ANSI: B56.1-2012, Safety Standard for Low Reach and High Lift Trucks; 4.17 Elevating Personnel; (c) Make sure required fall restraint means, such as guardrails or personal fall protection systems, are in place and properly used (see 7.37.l(d)(l)) for personal.
