29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, a personal fall arrest system, or an alternative fall protection measure as provided by another provision in paragraph (b) of this section: On or about July 26, 2022, employees were exposed to fall hazards greater than 9 feet while engaged in residential roofing activities. Fall protection was not being utilized while performing the activity. No abatement is required for this citation item.

29 CFR 1926.503(b)(1):The employer did not verify compliance with paragraph (a) of this section by preparing a written (training) certification record including the name or other identity of the employee trained, the date(s) of the training, and the signature of the person who conducted the training or the signature of the employer. On or about July 26, 2022, the employer failed to certify that employees had been trained to recognize and minimize fall hazards. Employees were exposed to fall hazards approximately 9 feet while performing roofing work on a new residential structure without using fall protection. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
