29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a) At36 Mettler Loop, Richmond Hill, GA, on or about August 3, 2022, and at times prior to, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards greater than 10 feet, in that the extension ladder the crew used to gain access to the roof did not have the side rails of the ladder extended at least three feet above the landing to provide safe access to the roof.

Gonzalo Quijano Bautista was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1586782, citation number 1, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on June 6, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 18 Allston Ln., Lot 42, Savannah, GA 31407. Gonzalo Quijano Bautista was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1586788, citation number 1, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on June 6, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 130 Brookline Dr., Lot 14, Savannah, GA 31407.
