29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equaled or exceeded an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: (a) In the fabrication department, a custom fabricator was exposed to noise levels at 75.74% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 75.74% is approximately 87.9 dBA. Sampling was performed for 542 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled time. (b) In the fabrication department, a fabricator/polisher was exposed to noise levels at 119.4% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 119.4% is approximately 91.2 dBA. Sampling was performed for 533 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled time. (c) In the fabrication department, a fabricator/polisher was exposed to noise levels at 80.0% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 80.0% is approximately 88.3 dBA. Sampling was performed for 527 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled time. (d) In the fabrication department, a fabricator/polisher was exposed to noise levels at 77.46% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 77.46% is approximately 88.1 dBA. Sampling was performed for 551 minutes during one shift. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled time.
