29 CFR 1926.651(j)(1):Adequate protection was not provided to protect employees from loose rock or soil that could pose a hazard by falling or rolling from an excavation face: a) Worksite was located at 12 Knight Drive, Jackson, NJ 08527 Subcontractor's employees were exposed to struck by and caught in hazards as they were installing new pipe for sewer tie ins on a new single family home in a trench that was greater than five feet deep with no shoring or sloping to protect the workers from possible cave ins. Violation occurred on or about August 8, 2022.

29 CFR 1926.651(j)(2):Protection was not provided by placing and keeping excavated or other materials or equipment at least 2 feet (.61m) from the edge of excavations, or by the use of retaining devices that were sufficient to prevent materials or equipment from falling or rolling into excavations, or by a combination of both if necessary. a) Worksite was located at 12 Knight Drive, Jackson, NJ 08527 Subcontractor's employees were exposed to struck by and caught in hazards as they were installing new pipe for sewer tie ins on a new single family home in a trench that was greater than five feet deep with spoils set on the top leading edge of the sidewall with no set backs. Violation occurred on or about August 8 and August 9, 2022.
