29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):"Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) On August 10, 2022, located at the edge of a low slope commercial roof, employees were exposed to slip, trip, & fall hazards using a water hose to clean the rubber roof while not utilizing any fall protection system. Potential fall height measured to be 15'-9".

29 CFR 1926.502(a)(2):Employers shall provide and install all fall protection systems required by this subpart for an employee, and shall comply with all other pertinent requirements of this subpart before that employee begins the work that necessitates the fall protection. (A) Guardrail systems; (B) Safety net systems; or (C) Personal fall protection systems, such as personal fall arrest, travel restraint, or positioning systems. (a) On August 10, 2022, located at the edge of a low slope commercial roof, employees were exposed to slip, trip, & fall hazards using a water hose to clean the rubber roof in that the employer failed to install a fall protection system before the employees performed the work. Potential fall height measured to be 15'-9".
