29 CFR 1910.36(g)(2): An exit access was not at least 28 inches (71.1 cm) wide at all points and the width of the exit and exit discharge was not at least equal to the width of the exit access. a) Walk-in Refrigerator: On or about August 24, 2022, passageway leading to the walk-in freezer was obstructed when boxes of food items were stored approximately 12 inches across from one another in the refrigerator in that the width of the exit discharge from the freezer was not at least equal to the width of the exit access of 28 inches. b) Walk-in Freezer: On or about August 24, 2022, the passageway in the walk-in freezer did not provide the required width of access of at least or equal to 28 inches when boxes of food items were stored and stacked next to each other against the freezer door thereby blocking passageway for employees when they retrieved and stacked products in the freezer.

29 CFR 1910.176(c): Storage areas were not kept free from accumulation of materials that constituted hazards from tripping, fire, explosion or pest harborage: Walk-in Freezer: On or about August 24, 2022, the walk-in freezer was not kept free from the accumulation of materials that constituted hazards from tripping or pest harborage when an accumulation of boxed food items, which included both open and closed boxes of food, were seen stored in tiers against the inside of the Walk-in Freezer door preventing safe passage while employees retrieved and stacked food items.
