29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1):All places of employment, passageways, storerooms, service rooms, and walking-working surfaces are kept in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. a) On 7/5/2022 the employer did not ensure that walking working surfaces within the building leased by the United States Postal Service were kept in a clean and sanitary condition in that the facility flooded during a heavy rainfall exposing employees to slips, trips and fall hazards associated with flooding in location such as the parking lot and facility, while performing such task as but not limited to sorting mail and loading mail trucks

29 CFR 1910.22(a)(2): The floor of each workroom is maintained in a clean and, to the extent feasible, in a dry condition. When wet processes are used, drainage must be maintained and, to the extent feasible, dry standing places, such as false floors, platforms, and mats must be provided. a) On 7/5/2022, the employer did not ensure that the continuous hazard of the facility flooding during heavy rainstorms were clean and dry prior to employees utilizing the walking-working area of the Post Office facility located in Fort Wayne IN. in that employee had to work in flooded conditions while performing such task as mail processing and sorting.

If the correction or repair cannot be made immediately, the hazard must be guarded to prevent employees from using the walking-working surface until the hazard is corrected or repaired a) On 7/5/2022, the employer did not ensure that the continuous hazard of the facility flooding during heavy rainstorms were corrected or repaired prior to employees utilizing the walking-working area again at the Post Office facility located in Fort Wayne IN in that employees had to perform task such as; mail sorting and process during flooded conditions.
