29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1) : Employees did not use eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents: a. 32 -34 Oakland Avenue, Jersey City, NJ Employee used hand tools such as, but not limited to DeWalt Reciprocating Saw Model DW303, without wearing eye or face protection. The employee used the hand tools to cut insulations on a residential building under construction. Violation observed 09/02/2022

29 CFR 1926.451(e)(1): Scaffold platforms were more than 2 feet (0.6 m) above or below a point of access, portable ladders, hook-on ladders, attachable ladders, stair towers (scaffold stairways/towers), stairway-type ladders (such as ladder stands), ramps, walkways, integral prefabricated scaffold access, or direct access from another scaffold, structure, personnel hoist, or similar surface shall be used. Crossbraces shall not be used as a means of access. a. 32 -34 Oakland Avenue, Jersey City, NJ The employer did not provide a safe means of access to scaffold work platforms. Employees used tubular welded scaffolding without an access ladder to each working level while installing angle iron on a residential building. Employees were observed climbing the scaffold frames and cross braces as a means of scaffold access. Violation observed 09/02/2022
